AMAA is an architecture office founded in Venice in 2012 by Marcello Galiotto and Alessandra Rampazzo, who met as students at Iuav. Before starting their own practice, they worked alongside Massimo Carmassi and Sou Fujimoto. They describe their way of working as collaborative, and see architecture as a shared effort rather than the expression of one personal voice. Practice and academia are closely linked in their work: both completed a PhD and continue to teach and do research. The office has designed at every scale, from small interventions in historic buildings to public commissions, including the winning design for the Verdi Theatre in Terni.
